WRITING
[ rahy-ting ] digging in to understand the real story, with focus on characters or matter with respect to style, kind, quality, etc.

I wrote the script for this film over lunch with Valentina (left in photo). The goal was to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the Abbona family for the Wine Spector Film Contest.

The goal was to clearly show how Michele helps couples in their relationship while piquing viewer interest.
FILMING
[ fil-ming ] capturing the essence of the location or characters with equal focus on the subject and the script (see WRITING above)

I tried to follow a bottle of wine from Italy to New York. On short notice I was able to get permission to film in the port of Livorno and inside that warehouse. I rode the Staten Island ferry back/forth many times waiting for a container ship to arrive.

I travelled to the northwest corner of Vancouver Island, BC to film the journey of farmed salmon. This complicated shoot included 4 locations and yummy food.
EDITING
[ ed-i-ting ] serve as editor (aka, artist); to collect, prepare, and arrange (materials) for publication; to make awesome.
Inspiration

Yes, I built a roller coaster in our backyard with my son. It was a great figure-it-out project.

A commercial for a fake product with a side of insight into communicating with your kids.
